Maine Venture Fund Welcomes Solve Finance

Maine Venture Fund is proud to welcome Solve Finance to our portfolio of innovative Maine start-ups.

Solve Finance is a borrowing engine for households to save money on their debts, an automated “kayak.com” of mortgage, student, auto, and personal loans.  The company also has a social benefit,  choosing the right types of credit is complicated and a source of persistent inequality in the US.  Those least able to afford it are most likely to overpay on credit.  Solve’s platform differentiates from others by avoiding referral fees and it never sells user data; it focuses on taking complicated borrowing math off of users’ hands and combining real time price transparency, enriched credit data and financial AI to automate better borrowing.

Solve’s platform provides simple and clear guidance for users on saving money.  Solve works with lenders to provide a free marketplace in which they can pass marketing savings to Solve users, allowing Solve to remain unbiased.

CEO, Sean Hundtofte, commented, “This early fundraising round is critical in helping Solve Finance to continue refining our breakthrough product while establishing initial client relationships that will pave the way towards bringing debt refinancing to consumers at scale, both in Maine and beyond.”

Solve works with lenders to provide discount pricing to borrowers, effectively negotiating on behalf of borrowers, simplifying option choices, and minimizing costs. We look forward to working with the Solve Finance team as they grow their footprint here in Maine.

Solve Finance, welcome to the Maine Venture Fund portfolio!
