Maine Venture Fund is proud to welcome Alivo as our newest portfolio company based in South Portland.
This company provides communication management software tailored to home service businesses, specializing in creating custom AI agents that streamline sales operations. These advanced agents manage interactions throughout the customer lifecycle with minimal human input. From answering inquiries and qualifying leads to scheduling appointments, Alivo handles tasks seamlessly via text messages and live phone calls. Through industry specific integrations, Alivo connects directly with the tools and systems that home service businesses already rely on, boosting operational efficiency and driving revenue growth for its customers.
Alivo’s founders, Max Meade and Hailey Lister, approached the business model with a practical framework, grounded in these key principles:
Deliver a clear ROI to customers
Make AI technology accessible in a business context
Prioritize workflow automation
Build a recurring subscription revenue model
Target a large obtainable market
With this framework in mind, they launched a minimum viable product (MVP) to gather market feedback, securing their first paying customer within just eight weeks. This early success stemmed from their innovative concept: an AI-powered sales assistant designed to autonomously capture and convert new leads. Recognizing a significant opportunity in the home services sector, they pivoted their focus to an industry ripe for disruption. Many businesses in this space relied on outdated, manual lead management methods, such as pen and paper, which resulted in slow response times, poor lead management, and substantial revenue loss. Since then, the company has been refining their product and expanding their team, steadily building on their momentum.
This investment round will help Alivo accelerate their solution into the marketplace. York.ie led the round, which also included Maine Venture Fund, the Charlotte Angel Fund, Service Provider Capital, and local Maine angel investors.
