Maine Venture Fund announces the addition of WholeTrees to its portfolio
WholeTrees Structures, led by CEO Amelia Baxter, originated in Madison, WI, and has expanded its operations to Maine to leverage our state's forests and talented forest products labor force. The company supplies Solid Structural Timber (SST) which is used to create beautiful, sustainable, and durable biophilic structures. WholeTrees utilizes sustainably harvested trees in their natural form and strength to produce long-lasting, structural components for projects across the country, including zoos, office & retail, K-12 and university buildings, & nature playscapes.
This fundraise will facilitate the expansion of WholeTrees' facility in Ashland, Maine, bolster its sales strategy, and systematize its innovative technology solutions across national operations. As a certified B-Corp, WholeTrees is committed to its mission of fostering prosperity between communities and forests. The company has already created 15 new jobs in Aroostook County and projects its workforce in Ashland to exceed 35 employees by 2028.
